NAZARETH’S DEFENSIVE FRONT CLOSES THE DOOR ON PROVIDENCE

Final: Nazareth Academy 17, Providence Catholic 7

Nazareth controlled the game through sustained rushing production and timely defensive-line pressure.

The Roadrunners’ ground attack generated 180 yards on 38 carries from its two leading runners. That production included a third-quarter drive lasting approximately 10 minutes, allowing Nazareth’s offensive front to control possession and wear down the Providence defense.

Providence recovered an onside kick while trailing 17–7, but Nazareth junior defensive lineman John Bukovac immediately responded with a sack. The negative play placed Providence behind schedule and helped Nazareth protect its lead.

Providence produced 123 yards and one touchdown on 17 carries from its leading runner, but the Celtics were held to seven total points.
